Nice pic. I first rode VIR - then simply called Danville back in the early 70's. It's nice to see the old oak tree still stands and marks the beginning of the mile long back straight. Good to see some things only get better. I had a good friend loose an arm when he crashed at the Oak Treet Turn. A girl working the corner at the time fainted when he got up and said "Hey, where's my arm" waving his empty leather sleeve. Good thing it was only his prostetic. He found it, strapped it back on and rode back to the pits.
I've watched a number of tracks dissapear - Bridgehampton on Long Island was a great track and a blast to ride - now houses. Riverside in CA - now a shopping mall....
