Default check engine light

Its a fairly cool evening so I take the Vette out for a short run. I do a burnout and make a short pass. Then the stupid check engine light comes on! Its running fine but the light came on. Any clue on why its on and how do I turn the damn thing off? Its done this before for no reason and usually goes out after a few days! Any ideas out there?
Thanks,
Dave

Pull your codes...write them down for future reference and then reset your d.i.c.
This will clear your codes and engine light will go out.
Have this problem looked at!

My check engine light would come on every couple of days so I changed the bank 2 number 2 oxygen sensor. Hope this helps.

1. Press "Options" until you reach the blank space (right after "Languages)

2. Keep it pressed while you press "Fuel" 4 times...

It will go into Diagnostics and automatcially start scrolling thru the codes for each computer (PCM, BCM, etc)...

When you see a code with a C after it, this indicates current code...H indicates History code.

Press E/M to exit.

Without pulling codes, he would have no idea what is causing the light to come on.
