The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
MN6's are less proned to drone with magnaflow.........than 2.73 a4 cars.
The drone with magnaflow rears its ugly head at the 1700 - 1800 rpm range which in a 2.73 geared car, IS HIGHWAY SPEED.
The lower the rpms running at highway speeds the worse the drone becomes.
To magnaflows credit, their drone is not nearly as bad as some of the others out there...........it's basically tolerable, but note, there is drone, albeit slight.
The look, sound, fit , finish and build quality, more than make up for this slight nusance.
3.42 gearing in an a4 tame the drone considerably and it's far less noticable than a 2.73 geared car, but still exists.
At wide open throttle Magnaflows system is not as loud as say, corsa, or borlas stingers, but somehow manage to sounds classier than both its competitors with its deep throaty rumble that screams " power."
As looks go, its large tips and polished finish are very hard to beat, giving some added demension to the rear of a C5 that the others don't.
Tip alignment is made simple and perfect courtesy of Magnaflow, thanks to their exhaust plate which is included in the package.
The plate , in and of itself is extremely nice and fits directly between the pipe tips perfectly, and is not some stick on piece that adheres with double sided tape to some platic component underneath the Corvette. It is a TRUE exhaust plate, Billet Aluminum, which in itself also gives the rear of the c5 a look that the others do not.
Perhaps the premier cat back system for the C5 Corvette and probably the system that the car should have come with.
The system is slightly heavier than stock, perhaps , roughly 10 lbs which is a non issue if the driver simply loses 15 pounds, equating to 5 less pounds.
Fitment is a breeze of perfection.............
Pictures do not do it justice.

As for drone, it's minimal. There's just a bit at about 1600 to 1800 RPM in 6th gear. So if you're cruising at 70 mph in 6th, there's just a bit of drone especially if you accelerate a bit without down shifting as it creeps from 1600 through 1800 RPM.

Love my system too. For just a bit more "throat-e-ness" I also went with Bassanni High Flow Cats. No change in drone.
What does one do about that? Can I move the 50th anniversary plate and put it on top of the magnaflow bracket? Will it fit there?
Based on what I have read, heard and the great price I can get for the installed 15660 system, I am sold on it. I'd just like to know what to do about the plate.

I will be doing a mild cam on the C5 and possibly heads (some day).
I'll look for you.
