Poor driving abounds ... some people just shouldn't be allowed on the roads. Here are a couple of examples from this morning that I saw in about two minutes:
• I was downtown, parked on the curb of a two-lane one way street. I looked in my mirror and two vehicles were coming so I waited and watched. A car in the right lane kept wandering around, over the divider line, and almost hit a truck before jerking his car back. Then he proceeded to stop in the middle of the signaled intersection. He was on the cell phone and smoking at the same time. Wonder if an lighted ash landed in his crotch?
• A couple of blocks later, I was merging onto the freeway. I was in the left lane of a two lane ramp and traffic was fairly heavy. The right lane peters out just before the freeway entrance, and traffic in it is supposed to merge. A woman in a small car guns it to get past traffic, had no intention of merging, and damn near hit the concrete safety barrier on her right as well as a car on her left in the proper lane. The merge area is very well marked with short dashed lines and a merge sign.
It's a wonder we stay alive ....

My parents are visiting me in LA from London and they still can't get over the appalling driving over here!At least some British drivers have a degree of road manners
People actually thank you when you let them into traffic or out of a turning.
When I first saw the header I thought "You want to see BAD driving...come to Alabama...specifically Mobile!!"
And then I saw your location
I feel your pain.
I thought it was bad in New Orleans but DAYUM, it's far worse here.

I lived there for a semester in college. It was great, kind of like being in nascar, but on a never ending road course
I've been all over the USA, most of Europe, and so far Mexico City takes the cake for worse on the planet. Very entertaining though.

Motor Vehicle Operators Abound Muuuch more appropriate. The majority of people out on the roadways are NOT drivers, but merely operating a motor vehicle.
