Is there any c5 exhaust setup that is raspy? thats what i personally like, i had a head/cammed lt1 with hooker lt's and borla and it was raspy as hell, thats what i like...also, why does adding heads/cam make the exhaust louder?

Whenever you change the valve events and keep the valves open longer (Cam) and flow a lot more air (ported heads) the exhaust volume gets louder. Basically you are opening up the air pump and allowing it to do its job more effeciently at given levels. The volume goes up with the increased exhaust/air flow.

Huh?
This
plus this
equals about 101 dB at idle from 10ft. And 130dB revving it. (Also from 10ft.)
Now i have a heads and cam package, and need to remeasure to see how loud it is.
Keep in mind - 130 dB is the pain threshold, and from 10ft away, your ears will hurt when i rev my engine, now w/ the H/C package, it's even louder!
Also, keep in mind A4 vs M6. With the automatic - you're frequently stuck in a resonating frequency droning your head off... but with a M6 - you can pick a slightly lower gear, and get out of the resonance. I get resonance/drone around 2000-2400, but i'm never just Sitting in that RPM range, cause i have a M6... i'll just up shift and keep it around 1700...
