Active handling warming up???
After a nice chat with Matt383 at the Rolling Meadows cruise-in tonight I got in the car to leave. It was 56 degrees out and when I started Plain Jane her DIC said "Active handling warming up". After idling through the lot for a couple minutes it read "warming complete". I take it this is normal???
Believe that the cars has to go stright for a certin distance for the Active Handling to coordinate the relationship between the wheels. Message is just a warning to let you know that the Active Handling is not working at the moment.
I've seen that occasionally on mine but I've never worked out what conditions bring it on. I backed out of my drive in Vegas by turning. Also I reverse 20 yds to the street before I drive off in UK. Never have had a good straight run immediately for the system to get its bearings. Even so, I rarely get a warming up message.
Also, as the system is electronic I assume it really means "system calibrating" rather tham phsically warming up
Constant nuisance but I have to deal with it - I daily drive my 03Z to work and park on the 7th floor of a garage - which means I immediately leave into a 70 foot downward corkscrew
Get about halfway down, AH warming up comes on the DIC, when I reach the bottom it's done. I just simply take my time down the corkscrew and ride the brakes down it at 10-11 mph, I haven't been tempted to try a Tokyo Drift on it yet
Wonder if I put it in competitive mode when starting the car up if that would avoid the AH WU issue?
