Occasionally the driver side door does not respond to the FOB, or the buttons on the door, only on the un-lock request. You can hear a relay click but nothing happens. The passenger side works fine when un-lock is requested. Just wondering if a component goes bad in the module or if you have to replace the entire thing.
You went to the right place. Bakerfield's post is terrific. I had the same door lock problem and following the instructions, I was able to fix it.
Probably the toughest part is unsoldering the bad relay and installing the new one. When installing the replacement relay, make sure the soldier joints are solid. If you don't have much experience with a soldering iron, just take your time. You will want a solder wick for the bad relay removal, or better yet, get a solder iron with a built-in solder sucker. Rat Shack (Radio Shack) carries one for around 15 dollars. Also, keep in mind the Door Control Module there is a risk of electrostatic damage, so when handling it, be conscientious to ground yourself (easily achieved by touching anything metallic that is on the ground).
Probably the beauty in this whole thing is that when you're all said and done, you will spend about $1.10 the relay and saved your self somewhere in the neighborhood of $500+ had you taken the car to the stealership.
If the problem persists, there are basically two approaches. Repair the affected DCM or replace the it.
Indeed, the DCM can simply be replaced. This is simpler and quicker. But I believe used DCMs are $100+ and a new one is about $200+. Anyone feel free to correct me on these prices if I am in error.

Exactly my problem - I've read Bakersfield's post, and I have a project for this winter!
