Took a look at the vendor mall, looking for something not gaudy (brushed aluminum would be nice), as short as possible.
Has to "fit in" with a stock black Z06 interior. Ideally it has a shift pattern imprinted but not a must. There was a nice looking oval-ish one that said Z06 towards the bottom of one of the mall pages...
Anyway, any practical experiences / pics? As ugly as the stock head is I admit it has a decent grab. Shorter and less square would be cool.
And speaking of long throws, saw a couple of kits in the mall to remedy that. How are they? What is the install like? I'd be looking for conservative shorter (mm not inches).
And while I'm placing an order, are all CAGS defeaters the same or should I go to a specific one?
I have the Momo "Anatomic Short". Black leather, very simple, very nice size and smaller to the hand than stock. I have to say I love it, and cannot imagine driving the car with the large stock **** any longer. About $48.00, and real easy to install.
I should be getting it in 5 days and will be putting it on the new Hurst shifter that should be released in about 2-3 weeks.I have been to Tower Shoppes and there is a good amount of Vettes. When are you going to start the mods?
Do not buy a Momo shifter! They are made to fit universally and are NOT solid shift *****. Not trying to flame, I've owned one, but the rubber spacers give a soft mushy feel that is terrible. JMHO, but Momo is a no-no.
The Hardbar **** is very popular. It is available from LAPD (I am out of stock) for the same price. It is fully threaded internally and is made specifically for each application (i.e. no set screws, adapters, etc)
