Go To The Head of The Class! The specific tire sizes recommended above are what would be termed a correct "Plus 0" tire size upgrade upon the same sized Corvette C5 original equipment wheels. The o.e. Corvette C5 wheel sizes are 17X8.5 Fronts which are coupled with 18X9.5 Rears from the GM Corvette Factory. FYI: The 8.5 inch wide wheel is an ideal wheel width for an 255mm tire, and, a 285mm tire is also recommended upon a 9.5 inch wide wheel. This is a great option-alternative for Corvette C5 owners who do not wish to purchase a costly larger and wider custom wheel and tire package for their C5, when you can simply upgrade the tire sizes upon the o.e. Corvette C5 wheels with this Plus 0 tire size upgrade. Falken, Goodyear, Pirelli, Yokohama, and, Michelins, etc. are just some of the many tire brand options available to you in this specific Plus 0 sizing with the Falken tire (FK-451, and, FK-452) being the best low cost value.

So the 255/40/17 and 285/35/18 would be the best fit and wouldn't rub. My next question is would it make the car sit any lower?
