Default '08 C6 Z06 shifter install - feedback

I removed my B&M short-throw and installed my C6 Z06 shifter this morning. I re-used my stock OEM shifter boot which I zip-tied to the new shift ****. The install was very straight forward since I decided to remove the compete shifter with base and replace it with the new set-up. FWIW, I did the "Antivenom mod a couple of years ago.

Impressions

Operation - The throws are definitely not as short as my B&M (or the Hurst I had before it) but definitely shorter than the stock.

Feel - It's smooth in operation and gear selection engagement without feeling rubbery. Both my B&M and Hurts were very notchy sometimes making me think I had transmission problems. With this C6 Z06 gear selection is significantly improved.

NVH - In my car (H/C) the shifter is as quiet as my B&M (I had the new revised one with internal isolators), not as quiet as my stock shifter, but much quieter than my Hurst.

Overall

Way better than both my Hurst and OEM shifters and better than my B&M in gear selection smoothness. Although I am used to, and prefer, a shorter throw operation; I am happy with this choice and will keep it unless something equal with shorter throws comes out - 9/10.

I agree. Just last week I swapped out my Hurst for a C6 Z06 shifter and I am much happier with it.

I know what you are saying....

I went from my stock Z06, to a Hurst, to a B&M, and now a C6 Z06.....all within the last month wish I could get the throw of the Hurst with the C6 though

Lots of C6 Z guys going with shorter throw shifters and you guys are going the other way, I am going to see what they have as I like my Hurst and have not had any issues with finding gears, especially when I am slamming them, but if I drove yours then mine back to back I could be swayed

I might be in Texas (DFW) with my car next month. If I do come down you are more than welcome to drive up I35 to try mine out.

I just had the C6Z06 shifter installed yesterday...had the B&M Ripper (old style) in for over 3 1/2 years. The throws are noticeably longer (but not bad), it's VERY smooth, precise shifts and NO noise at all. Went with the Vette Essentials boot designed to fit over the shift ****.

I like it too.

Same evolution here... stock, aftermarket (BPP), and now C6Z. Very happy with present setup. Now, about that clutch....

I have the 2007 c6z in mine. Absolutely love it but then again anything is better than the sloppy stock one. I really had no idea what I was missing until I slapped the new one in and went for a test drive. By far, my favorite mod to date.

Default Hurst

Got a Hurst, love those short throws, nothing else for me.
Besides I'm a 60's kid, need to have that Hurst **** just like the old days.
