I love Crutchfield. Just ordered a Sony x-Plod deck to run my satellite and ipod. Are there other crutchfield folllowers here? Man, I could surf that website all day!

I recently ordered a nice Alpine receiver/CD and Infinity and Kenwood speakers for my Mazda MX6 GT. Not only did they send all necessary wire harnesses for the receiver AND speakers, but they also sent me front speaker and receiver adapter plates. The instructions were great and the sales guy was very knowledgable. Total cost? $200. What a deal!
Crutchfield is a great place to get info, if youre interested in one of the brands they carry... Once you have decided what you like, spend 2 min on your favority search engine and get the same thing for half the price from another site...
Where do the posts that say Crutchfield is too expenses get the deals? Just curious. Thanks.
I did my GTP 7-years ago for $800.00. That price included a 4-way 650 Profile Amp, kenwood MP3 player, front door dual and rear tri speakers, amp kit, deck kit and great instructions.
Well, you picked one there that's almost impossible to find from anybody other than Crutchfield, so I couldn't find a better price for that one. Specialty items, or low production number units are giong to be the exception to the rule...
What features specifically are you looking for? Why did you pick that model? Are you locked into the Sony explode line ?
I like crutchfield because they provide excellent pictures, instructions, information, how-tos and they usually have the most up-to-date products. However, that being said, when it comes to purchasing a product, I always use sounddomain as they have very competitive pricing
I love Crutchfield, their service is second to none. I wouldn't buy a wide-screen TV from the due to the shipping cost but, for small stuff, they're definitely one of my preferred vendors. I've gotten everything I've ordered from them at, or around, street price. They run some great promotions, you have to check in every so often. If I pay a few dollars more it's because I know they'll ship quickly and stand behind the product 110%- that's worth something to me.
They were great when things were still hard to find. But nowadays things can be found almost anywhere that is on there for cheaper. Once in a while an item is at a good price but I haven't bought from them in years. They weren't bad service wise when I did buy from them though, just a bit pricey now.

Yeah, you can get stuff grey market with no factory warranty support, virtually no customer service, and usually none of the free extras... you can get it cheaper than Crutchfield sure.
Sometimes local dealers will cut deals though.
They don't really carry any high end gear, though.
I usually browse http://www.woofersetc.com/ , no complaints. I was big into car audio when I was younger (and before I had a car). Even became a certified IASCA (International Auto Sound Challenge Association) Judge at 16 (though that has since expired as I never re-certified to take the test again). Other then that a lot of stuff I buy direct from less well known manufacturers.
