What would be a good run flat for alot of driving in the rain?
My tires are getting close to replacement time. I live in BFE and dont really want to go without a run flat. We also get about 60" of rain a year. The car will be my daily driver. I bought it this summer and it is on its second pair of eagle f1 gs emt's. I was thinking that the GS-D3 would be nice, but its not available in a run flat in the stock size.
Wet road traction, and resistance to hydroplaning are the most important to me. Durability would be nice. I dont really care about road noise or ride quality.

You can stick with OEMs if you like (IMHO, they are decent in the rain as long you maintain correct pressure and they are not too old).
A better run flat for the wet is the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZP. It is an all-season tire, so they have good wet traction as well as light snow. I personally don't care for how they look on a Vette, but they are an excellent tire and you will find they are highly recommended by a lot of folks on the Forum.

I have the Firestone SZ50 EP...great tire in both the wet and dry....its run flat specs arent as good as the goodyears but its a much quiter tire and not nearly as stiff as the goodyears.....and its a good looking tire........
I have a set of the Firestone's that C5SMAJ pposted about. with his assessment relative to stock GY's.
I have read that the Kumho's become very greasy in the wet.

Spoke with Michelin folks yesterday, New Vette owners who like these tires will be happy to know they are in development stages now and will be offered for the 2008 coupe vert and z06 in the coming future.
They last " A LOT" longer then the GY run flats
I have the Michelins on mine and just drove in some heavy rain last week because it's my DD. It was much better then my non sports cars. I even did some twisties because that's the route home and it was fine.
I'm running the Michelin runflats and like them alot...they seem to be fine in the rain. Whenever I get a little aggressive and the rear does break loose, I've got the electronic nanny there to keep things in check (active handling) .

I live in Oregon and we get a LOT of rain and my C5 is a DD........the ZPs have been great !
I replaced the GYs OEM with Firestone Fire-hawk Run Flats and have been very satisfied--will never go back to GY. So far I've got about 4K miles on the tires in both dry and wet conditions--they have been excellent!
