I know this is the wrong section but no one actually looks at the audio section.

I need to install this, but does any one have experience? Is it difficult? Good sound?

IMHO, what I would do is take the radio you have and want to install and take it to a local car audio shop and ask them for a kit. That one there is a generic kit and you still have to do some hard wiring, but most manufactures have kits especially built for the cars. (ie if you want to install a Pioneer head unit, you can buy a Pioneer to GM kit; if you want to install an Alpine unit, you can buy a Alpine to GM kit) usually with minimum or no wiring and cheaper than that one.

This advise may or may not be what your looking for but here is a little input.

Any amp you put behind a deck is only as powerfull as the deck will allow.

So what I am saying is. The oem deck may only be putting out 1 volt. A better deck will put out 4 volts or maybe at best 8 volts and so on.
With higher volts you get louder sound. The amp you put behind it will sound only as good as what the deck is producing.

Say you put a supercharger or nitros kit on a 1.3L motor and then move that same kit to a 5.7L motor. What motor will put out more power?

It all starts at the head unit.
Buy a 4V and up deck. Trust me, You will be pleased with a flemarket amp.

I used the Soundgate GMCRV 1 when I fitted my Pioneer AVIC N1,although its a bit more expensive than the kit you linked to. It comes with an installation manual. All the connections match the colrs on the car side and you just need to find the switched power and ground at the car side.

The kit you show looks similar. I'd say its pretty straight forward. I'm no audio buff but its fine for me. Theres a potentiometer on the harness to set the speakers up

I also needed an antenna adaptor to take the GM fit to the radio.

any decent amp can deal with 1v of output

low voltage + higher gain = X power
high voltage + lower gain = X power

Ive already got the Pioneer 780 installed in the car, but there is no Bose amps connected so it has to be on sound 40 so you can actually hear it. It sucks... Any one in the Houston area want to help me out maybe make some extra cash installing it?

Im sure someone in Houston can help ya, but seriously, it isn't hard to do at all. If ya know how to pull out the radio (which is really easy) you can install the kit. Like I suggested, just go to a local car audio shop and ask for a wiring kit for a Pioneer 780 to Corvette C5 harness and they'll have it. Probably cost around $20-$30 and its usually just plug and play. There might be 1 wire you have to hook up separately, but 90% of the time, its completely plug and play with no wires to cut.

Houston is low-tech. None of the car stereo shops around here have even put a radio in ANY corvette. Kind of ridiculous if you ask me! Ive called Mobile One, and several other "popular" stereo stores, and no one has ever heard of it.

I have it on mine, easy to hook up except connection for one wire is misleading...sounds ok with the stock speakers, but will probably end up swapping the speakers out eventually. Here's a thread that helped me isolate that one wire connection problem I had when I installed it.

Yeah, that's a "pioneer thing"

3x the range on the volume **** that you need... Takes all day to turn the damn volume down.

That adapter is by Peripheral. The Soundgate is better (IMHO because that's what I used ) if you want to keep the stock speakers . The hookup really is easy. But, you will lose the RAP feature without yet another adapter.
