Check Engine

About a week ago I stopped and filled with gas and when I started the car the check engine light came on. I read the owners manual and it said that this could happen after filling the tank and that after a few trips that the light would go out. I have taken the car out about 4 times since this happened and it has not went away. Does anyone know how many trips it takes or should I be getting it checked? Any coments appreciated. Thanks

IF the CEL is on, the DIC will display codes.
Run the codes and post them here...

Don't know how to get the codes?

DO a search on C5 codes.

Now I know why I love this forum so much, when you ask for help you get it. Thanks guys I printed the information out and now out to the garage to see what I can figure out. I will keep you posted on what I found out. Again Thank You for your help. Ron

1 quick check is to make sure the gas cap is on tight, if it wasn't tightened past the first click....u can get a check eng. light

Thanks everyone, I pulled the codes and the code that shows H & C is code P0 0803 under the 10 PCM that says 1-4 Upshift solenoid control circut (MT). I do have a skip shift eleminator installed could that have anything to do with it? Thanks
