Default Problem With Internal Vents

Maybe somebody can help me.....
All of the sudden, the buttom that controls the vents inside doesn't work.
Air is blowin a little to the face, some to the windshield (as defogging) and most to the legs.
Can anybody tell me how the system works and if it is an easy repair?
thanks

Has the battery been disconnected recently?

If so, some have found that pulling the AC fuse for a few minutes (while the can is shut down!) somehow assists in this matter.

Common problem. Lots of threads on this one. Here's a particularly good one: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1746604. A search will produce many others. Let us know what you find. HTH

You lost vacuum to the HVAC unit. That controls the vents.

So what you all are saying is that the hoses are most likely corroded and are bad, or does this fuse thing have anything to do with it? From reading the other thread, it looks like the hoses need to be replaced, if I am reading it correctly. Someone enlighten me.

I think you're reading it correctly. As Bill and Showdown said, you've lost vac to the system. There are several possible cause for this but the damaged vac line is where I would start. That vac line is surrounded by a lot of wire so if you find damage there, check the wires also. HTH
