I regret buying 2 Mustangs in a row. Then when i bought the Vette I realized Mustangs are no where near the car a Vette is. Sadly I paid as much for my 04 Stang new as i did my 04 Vette 2 years later. Wish I had skipped the second Stang and went strait to the Vette. But i thought Vettes were only for rich people or something. But once i researched it boy did i feel stupid realiizing Vettes are no more expensive than your average SUV. But my biggest regret is not being born 25 years earlier so i could experience the Muscle Cars of the 60's. Oh well cars are finally getting powerful again. Enjoy it while we can cuz oil is indeed a problem and one day we may no longer be enjoying gigantic gas guzzling V-8's anymore. The next 10 years could make the late 70's look good.
I feel the pain, and yes, thanks!!
Every morning I go to work, atleast when the snow is not falling, I have the solice im driving a vette!!!
Still live it as much as the first day I drove the vette... actually, what really sold me, drove the vette on its first "my" drive and someone else driving the other way waved-- waved back of course!!!===
Now its mine!
Indeed, this forum does indeed rule!!!
Very sweet ride silverbullet00-
Wanted a silver or pewter one my self, but triple black came up first so could not say no.
Ever get this feeling that you are not complete till you own one??

Great post Icewind Dale!
Wish you would have found that out sooner as well.
Im in the same world you are, always thought they were for rich people, its not the case!
The next ten years on oil could kill us all off, but then again there is always top fuel alcohol!!!!
Go fast and enjoy the ride while we can!

Wish I still had my '65 to go with my C5. Bought my first one (a '65 coupe) in '85 at age 35 and the second (a '97) in '07 at age 59. Way too many years in between.

The only, ONLY thing I regret is its a two-seater, but I knew that going into it. I have always loved Vettes, but now with two boys (9y/o and 14 months) I want to experience speed fever with them, and I just cant do that with the three of us in a two seater. To me, its about the enjoyment of family in the hobby. Doesn't mean I hate the car, just means I wish I had another option.
Might mean I wait three-five yrs to by a well-pampered Shelby GT500 and have that for the three of us
I promissed my self when I was in IRAQ I'm getting a vette when I get home period.... and **** anyone who has anything to say about it
Just wish I would have made that promise to myself when I was in Somalia back in 93
Somalia and Iraq? Looks like you hit a couple of the true garden spots of the world -- and just think, you even got paid to go there! Thank you for your service. I am glad to know that you kept your promise regarding the Vette!
No regrets here, we have 3, the 2 in my sig an a 74. Only thing I regret was buying a Cobra and putting money into it only to sell it.That money could have went into our Vette's.
NO REGRETS... this is the best thing that ever happened to me... except for my wife of course.... but damn... I own a corvette... and a damn nice one... I am very very happy I bought it
I regret that I can't buy more a little sooner. Only two down and so far four more to go. I actually signed up on the forum before I owned my first one.
balancing a new adopted child, our biological child, work, giving my wife a break from keeping them at home, etc. it has been tough to even get out to drive it. I bought it over a week ago, and probably have ... 20 miles on it so far? That is not out of the norm for me when it comes to my toy car, but gosh ... I just can't say enough good things about this car. It is finnicky sometimes with the massive cam it has, but she feels nice! I got a good deal too, so when buyers remorse sets in, then I'll sell it (if it ever happens, that is!)
