I got mine from the dealer. They had to order it. Took two days. The spray can's are small so you will need several. Most automotive paint
stores have a device that they can use to match the color on your car to match the same color. All same colors have some differences in them. It is usually so small you don't notice it though. This is why some peoples cars look better than others in the same color provided they are taken care of the same. Good luck with your project. Frank
What is everyone using to match MY paint. Paint store told me that they cant mix MY. So I am looking for a close match to paint the fuel rail covers.
I went to a local paint shop and purchased a PPG product WA423G with matching clear coat. took two tries to get it right. I did my covers as well and found to match the body I had to wet sand (400 grit) in between base coat and clear. Matches very close. Now also be warned the MY paint is about $80 a pint. Plus the clear, hardner and other supplies set me back about $150. I did see some what appeared to be close matches out of spray cans at the local Home Depot,
It can be purchased in a spray can from the dealer. It comes in 4oz cans. They have all the colors. This is how my FRCs came out with a spray can, and some clear on top.
At least I only have 2 different shades rather than 4 !!
Had a minor fender bender recently and the new drivers fender is slightly off from the hood and bumper in certain lights (e.g. garage) even though they were blended. In the daylight it looks much better.
Took it back and body shop tried again - still slightly off so guess what??
I'm driving it and enjoying it...........life's too short !!
I had some spots touched up on my deck lid when I had it glassed in and they used a single stage yellow color from the SSR that matches really well for just small areas. I dont think i would try and paint a hood with it, but for what I have done it looks ok and nobody can tell.
for FRC's, i wouldnt worry too much about a perfect match because you will never know unless they are laying side by side with the fender or something.
mine from Kewl dont match the car, but you cant tell once they are installed.
