This probably will not be popular with most C5 Owners , but has anyone on the forum shaved thier handles ? I have a kit that I bought for my camaro and i am thinking about using it on my vette when i save up more money for the body work. Im curious to see what is involved with the install, and the re paint ? any input would be great !

I think EG did this to Grond, I definetely remember him showing a bunch of boxes of mods & there was a "shaved door kit"
Brian, I was talking about the door handles. Im not sure if you are talking about the handles or the brake ducts. I remember seeing the brake duct install pics and it was great work. If you did the door handles also, then that is also great work. Just curious how much the shaved doors cost
What is the cost involved in something like that ?
The cost really depends on the quality of the door poppers. Then how ever much a body shop or good friend wants to charge you to cover and paint the area where the handle was. So prices may vary. But just remember when doing something like this, you get what you pay for. If you spend a little more, then it will be worth it in the long run!!!!!!! It is a mod I plan on doing!!!!!!

I'm kidding... Mike and Gary did all of it... I watched and poked fun at the waxers.
The issue is that if the shop doesn't have the right techique or filler material the filled section of the doors will expand differently and bubble so you can see it... then you have to re-do it.
Mike and Gary had to re-do each of their cars a few times to get it down to a science. There's a special "vette fill" smc body material that is working perfectly now. Normal fillers won't work right w/ the corvettes SMC body panels.
Nots sure what it costs... but there's the poper kit, wiring, and then the body work.
Yes they are... they're made by Breathless Performance Products but are custom molded into the rocker.
Mike paid me in Beer... I did all the work... he has no skill
