Default Bungie Strap Nightmare

I will dream of these things forever. My perfect car is hurt. I was asked to do the Homecoming thing for a nice young lady. My good friend and personal attorney's daughter. The car looked perfect, the girl and the guy gorgeous, and despite the fact she did not win, we all were proud to be there. On my way home, was in the left lane coming to a stop approaching a light in the left hand lane. The car next to me on the right ran over this black thing and it bounced towards my car which I ran over with my back tire. Next thing I knew, I was going very slow to a stop and my mirror shattered and something black was whipping the side of the car. Here this thing punctured my back tire and stuck in it so it whipped around. I stopped and was freaked clear out thinking my tire had shredded like a retread or something. This thing was stuck in my tire and I knew not to drive any more being more damage would occur. I pulled as hard as I could to get it out and the air came pouring out. All I can say is thank god for run flats. I will never have anything else. I pulled then off the middle of the road, called the police with no avail being a road hazard and my husband came down and followed me home. Made it fine. I have been sick for days and told no one....Insurance adjuster was great. Covered all the damage, chrome letters, new tire, slight wheel allowance for scratches, etc. and a over three grand claim. Picked a very special garage here to do it who does Vettes and will be in in a couple weeks for repair. No dealer garage repair for me. I am glad no one was in the car with me. It really might have hit them in the arm or head. It even went around stretched to the back bumper. All I can say is, not sure if I will do Homecoming again, always have run flats, and AVOID all traffic on the right, or left, and following anyone anytime. Just kidding. Need to find some humor in all this. In the meantime, I will not look so close at my baby making us both feel bad. Definitely the worst nightmare ever!
Laurie

Best of luck on the repairs. FWIW, everyone in my little town now knows I don't do the homecoming thing so they don't bother to ask anymore. I know your problem came afterward, but I've had bad luck with hc activities - period.

Keep a good thought, it could have been worse, at least no one was injured and the car is repairable.
