I've got probably 10K miles on the Firestone run flats and have been very happy. I have had no issues at all and wouldn't have any problems recommending them or buying another set myself.
I had over 10K on mine, also with no problems. They were much better than GY OE Run Craps. I put on new wheels and tires and I'm saving the original wheels with the Firestones for when I trade the car.
Who said anything about you making it up?
This is what you stated..
I am not kidding. You WILL be sorry if you buy Firestones, trust me.
and to that I still say
Just because you had a problem that you've eloquently stated in more than one thread doesn't mean that ALL SZ50 RFTs are bad and will make everyone sorry they purchased them. As many others on this Forum have stated, along with me...we've had zero problems and many of us have had multiple sets of these tires. I even took the time to Google several other Vette forums looking for problems with this tire and NOBODY had a post like yours. It's good that you gave a heads up to the issue you had and I/we thank you for it however to blatantly condemn every SZ50 and proclaim that anyone who purchases one will be sorry and whatnot is ludicrous.
It's the same as saying you bought a C5 that had a bad wheel bearing for example therefore NO ONE should ever buy a C5 or they will regret it or be sorry they did.
I bought a set and put about 100 miles on them before a HPDE Full course at VIR.... after i got the presure bias worked out ... they did great for the 25 minute sessions... Granted I am not a good driver yet but never felt like the tires were giving out on me. On the street with 409 RWHP they are great... I am about to run them at MAXTON on the 20th

As another poster so eloquently put it to the guy with the issues with Firestones, your experience is that you don't like the OEMs. IN MY HUMBLE OPINION and mine alone (it seems) I have zero issues with the OEMs. I don't find them noisy or rough riding. ANY tire you keep on a sports car that is driven spiritedly or left in a garage for months on end (two extremes) are going to be very bad on the type of tires the Corvette requries. I change my tires BEFORE they get to that point (20k to 25k miles).
Plenty of Vette owners who think like I do. They just don't come on here proclaiming to know more than the automotive engineers that selected the tire that the car came with. Any tire that can take a corner at high-speed with valve core cut out of it is a tire Iwant on my car.
To the guy who learned just how bad the Firestones are: Thanks for the warning
To the guy(s) who love your Firestones: Good for you, I am happy that you are happy
To the original poster: Lots of choices out there for run-flats, none better for the C-5 than Goodyear OEMs if you want the security of run-flats.
