So I'm in Iraq and I got my poor Dad back in the States doing mods for me. I feel like a real heel. He drives my Vette up to the local dealership today to do a steering wheel swop. The GM tech got the wheel puller on the steering wheel and started pulling on it. He could not remove my OEM wheel because he says it will strip out the base. He knew I needed the old steering wheel to get my core charge back. The tech claims that he has removed several of these wheels before and never had one stick this bad. Has anyone ever had this problem before and is there a fix for this? Thanks
When I took my car in to get the wheel replaced they said the same thing. The tech got it off with no issues after quite some time. I have no idea what he did, sorry.
I've heard that they can break pullers from time to time at the dealers getting the wheel off. Just part of the game for them. No problem with mine when it was done.
