I was on my way to work and got behind a slow person. When I had the chance to pass (legally of course ), I stepped on it but apparently a bit too much since I started fishtailing badly.
I glimpsed at the dashboard and saw the "Active Handling engaged(?)" message, and I was able to get out of the near-disaster with no problem..
Good for you. It saved me too on a cold winter morning coming home from work. I hit some black ice in a right had turn on the highway with a retaining wall 2 feet away. The computer kicked in and brought me out of the slide before I could even react. Long story short, I didn't hit the wall and the car is all good.
We have not had rain in the Virginia area in some time.. The other day we had a very light rain.. I got in it just a little in a left hand turn.. And thank god it kicked in!! Saved me too!
Saved me one night while accelerating down a tight 270 degree on-ramp. CalTrans decided they needed to water part of the ramp with sprinklers, so I ended up heading down the ramp with a nice tail-out attitude and then let Active Handling do it's thing!
I just took my vette on the highway for the first time this weekend. I noticed that it likes to jump around if there are some ruts in the pavement - or even changing from one lane to the other it really takes off to the left when going into the passing lane.
This was unexpected for me...and it seems worse at speed.
Is this normal? I still have the original runflats on the front - does that make it worse?
