Default Intake, check it out.

Hey Guys,

This is my version of CAI...hahaha What do you think? Didn't want to mess with the fog light area.

I put a wireless thermometer next to air cleaner and it's way cooler!!! Essentialy = to ambient temp.

I used polished aluminum screen with some good ol' JB Weld on the back side.

Is there a screen and opening behind the air filter? What about those rivets? Great job!

My CAI mod is similar:

Hey Dave...

I can't take credit for the rivets, they're actually small allen bolts! That setup comes with the K&N kit. You can't see, but there is a 1 inch gap opening in the back of the air filter.

I used a 4 inch hole saw on my trusty craftsman 19.2v drill to make the perfect circular cuts on the sides. I chose not to cut directly underneath the air cleaner to prevent excessive dust/debris from making contact with it. (Plus I thought the side vents look cooler ) The air scoop under the car really does bring lots of cool air into this small area for the LS1 to breathe with!

The JB Weld on the underside makes for a strong bond and clean looking install from topside. Just have to clean and scuff the plastic prior and use some duct or elec tape to secure it overnight while the epoxy sets up. After that, it's pretty much secure up to Mach1

I'll post more pics when I get a chance!

Thanks for feedback guys
