Default Borla Stingers

Just got a set installed today. They arent any louder than the Corsa TOuring I had on my car before it. Every one on here ranted about how great the Stingers are and I was less than impressed. Whats up with that?

Sorry to hear you don't like them. In an attempt to help resolve the situation, would you like to sell the Borlas?

I dont know what I would put on the car. Thats the whole problem. I wonder if the Pace Cars are any better. What does a set of Stingers go for with 1500 miles on them?

It sure is interesting how personal tastes on this subject vary....

I bought Borla Stingers and had them for 3000 miles on my car. I couldn't wait to get rid of them. They were too loud for me and worse of all, the drone drove me crazy. I got Corsa pace Cars, no drone at all, and I'm extremely happy. Corsa Pace Cars get loud when I want them loud... when I'm down hard on the gas peddle. At WOT, I think Corsa Pace Car is as loud as Borla, but only at that time. To say it more exactly, they start sounding off above 2200 RPM and get louder from there. Corsa Pace Car also have an exotic note. If you like a deep muscle sound, Corsa Pace Car may not be for you.

As a data point, I sold my Borla Stingers on the Forum for $600 with 3K miles on them. A $200 penalty for trying them out.

Hmmm, I guess everyone's ears are different. I've said it a 1000 times on here, you have to go listen in person, that is the best way. Trying to listen to sound clips, and get an opinion on here is just too subjective...

For my ears, the Borla Stingers were louder (even before I had headers) than the Corsa Pace Car, big difference for me.

Inside the car the Borlas definitly have more drone than the Corsa's again that was my experience.

Now add headers and it's a whole different ball game

do you have an x-pipe on your car?

The indy exhaust screams when you punch it but is quiet most of the other time.

What kind of sound do you want?

There is no way they are not louder than the touring exhaust.

Are you sure you have touring? or the Indy?

Extremely loud?... I'm wondering if you should just go with straight pipes out. Check out B&B Tri-Flow bullets... not for the faint of heart. Maybe some one here with straight pipes can chime in...

My Dad's Vette is LOUD.

Dynatech Headers-High Flow Cats-XPipe-B&B Bullets.

Just the Bullets alone are loud.

I'll probably be doing a "Cat back" system on my Vette in December/January and I want deep, but not as loud as my dad's...or do I. ahhhhhhhh

Get some basically straight pipes. Borla race exhaust, B&B Bullets, or SLP LM. All are LOUD.
