C5 vs C6

C5 vs C6
I have my choice to either buy a C5 or C6 and after deciding which one I want I would prefer the C5 over a C6.I just like the C5 styling over the C6 or is it just me? I think the C5 has more heritage than the C6.I think that the flip up lights on the C5 is one of the features that distinguish the vettes from many other sports cars.To make a long story short how many people on this forum would prefer a C5 vs a C6????

I prefer the over all appearance and performance of the c5. The c6's look more bulky/beastly. but the c5 looks lean and aggressive. I agree with the pop up headlights. I love them.
On the other hand the only vette I would trade mine for would be a c6......Z06

I love my C5, but if I could swing the price difference, I'd probably make the jump to a C6. But, nothing wrong with prefering the looks of the C5 over any other generation Corvette - its all a matter of personal taste.

Get the one you like, next year I will be getting a C6 and keep my C5 as it is a blast to drive

My C5 because of the looks!
You can't beat the fact of a LS3 motor to do some mods on! Nice base to start with!
But isn't that why we can put those motors in our C5's

Well, this is the C5 forum, so I wouldn't expect the majority of the responses to be in favor of the C6.. I love my C5, but being completely honest with you guys(and myself), if price were not a factor I'd definitely take the C6 over the C5... And I believe a whole lot more of you C5 owners would do the same.... ;-)

Appearance wise, I like the C5 hands down. Improvements to the 2008 make it more tempting, but I think I'm sticking with the C5 for the forseeable future. Maybe a C7 will sway me (favorite generations have always been the odd numbers).

You would be suprised at how many people prefer the C5 over the C6. I've ran into a couple of people that like the styling of the C5 over the C6.Some people just don't like the bodystyle of the C6 and just becasue this is a C5 forum that does'nt mean the owners did'nt have a choice to buy a C6 over the C5.It's a matter of personal preference.

I like the C5 looks over the C6 as well. I like the view from the rear and the front, but the sideview just doesn't seem right to me forsome reason. I think the best bet is a C5 Z06. But it's all about what you want. Good luck

I just bought my 04 with 9800 wiles 7 weeks ago. I could have bought an 05 with 20K miles for probably 3-4K more. I really wanted the Commemorative Edition and prefer the C5 styling most of the time so I went for it. I still like the C6 design, but the majority of the time I find myself enjoying the C5 lines over the C6. A lot of people who aren't really Vette fans love the new style because it does look different and doesn't have as much heritage, I'd rather have that then be trendy. They are both great cars though so whatever floats your boat.
