Default long term storage????

OK, I know there have been a lot of kquestions on this. Sorry to flood you with more...but this is a little different. Ill be going to Saudi Arabia for about a year and need to store the Z, as well as my Ducati Monster while Im gone. I have found two places in Kansas City (where my brother lives) that offer long term storage. Both are climate controled and at a reasonable rate. They also will both start your car periodically for you. One offers once a month and one twice a month. They both have full securuty monitoring with gaurds and fire protection etc. one is also dehumidified, but thats the one that only starts it once a month and they are more expensive. So my question is...is the dehunidified system worth the extra$$$ (about $250 over the year). Especially with the other place starting it twice a month, which in my mind would help negate any humidity problems as far as the few rustable parts go. Obviously I would still put Sta-Bil in the tank and the moisture pack things inside to keep moiture out of the inside. Any input?

Actually, starting the car twice a month will not help the car at all. Unless it is driven enough to get it fully warmed up, starting will create condensation in the engine and exhaust.

You are better off to prepare it properly and then just leave it alone for the duration. The car should easily tolerate a year of storage.

FWIW, I have stored cars in excess of 5 years with proper preparation, and minimum effort to bring them back out of hibernation.

I totally agree with the above. Starting them periodically only puts moisture in the engine. Better to leave it sit, and put the battery on a tender.
