you can put enough luggage for a few days.when you check-in at your destination put the bags in the room, then put the top down.
Worlds only 7* hotel Burj Al Arab, Staff who park Zonda's said " Very nice car sir wow"
Al Badia 5* golf course , staff move Bently GT out of top parking space to sit my car at the front door
Emirates palace, staff park Convertable at front door (they dont even park it with the other plebs).
So many times i have driven up to gated comminities, reserved parking or guest only parking with the hood down. Secuity dont even question me. This wouldnt happen with the roof up
(Note: This is in a world of Veyron, Enzo's and Zondas)
Finally boot space, with the roof down i can get a set of golf clubs in, with the roof up I can get two sets - more than enough. I can easily get a monthly food shop in too.
All corvettes have a big button on the horizontal that says "Unlock".....
What you thinking they are going to use a pen knife to rip though the roof...

The C5 has ample room for clothes for two for a one week vacation. There is no appreciable wind noise with the top up. Top down driving is second only to the feel of riding a Harley down the road.
There will always be a Vert in our garage.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
The only negative to the vert is the rear pillars are rather wide. With the top up, you will have less visibility out the rear corners as a coupe. This can get a little annoying when backing out of a parking spot with tall cars on both sides of you. Nothing matches the visibility with the top down.
Go look it over and take a test drive. It can't hurt.
The next one may be a coupe (maybe 2009 model) now that my desire for a convertible has been satisfied. We'll see.
Don't over think it.

If someone is going to key your car, they will. The fabric roof would be stupidly difficult to rip.
None hard tops look older in style imo.

Bottom line. If you think a convertible top is not a greater target for vandalism than a non-convertible for a thief/ scumbag looking for something as small as a pair of sunglasses or even visible pocket change laying out in view you're just kidding yourself. They wouldn't think twice about slashing a top as it's quick and quiet.
Never made mention about getting 'keyed' so who knows where you got that from? The point was obviously about vandalism with reference to the soft top just as the other three items in the same sentence were which you seemingly understood.
You are entitled to your opinion regarding appearance.

A metal coat hanger is more than sufficent to open the doors on any corvette. Or the old tried and tested window smashing.
The instances of breaking into convertables via the roof is almost unheard of in Glasgow in Scotland (High Crime Rate) its an myth in this day and age, it would be a long and complex affair.
Indeed I challange you to find a single corvette convertable owner whos Vette has been broken into / stolen via the roof.
Dubai we have no crime, leave keys in, windows down no one will touch it - not my problem you are all scum bags
My post results were REAL simple. try them both and buy the one you like the most..
As a very sexist analogy (apologies to the ladies)
Do you like a lady with big bo....obs
or one with a nice bu....tt.
Again apologies for being sexist but "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

Anyway, My first Vette was a Vert. At first, I was very leery of verts, but once I test drove it and then drove it home with the top down, it was all she wrote
I had to get rid of it after 4 months due to various issues with the car, but I tell you, that car was head turner (magnetic red, BTW). Now that I have a Coupe, I see what the coupe owners were talking about. The Coupe I have now suits my needs AND tastes. Coupes are certainly the more practical of the two body styles. My Vert was a DD, so that should not deter you from getting one for that purpose IMHO.
I wasn't sorry I bought the vert because it was a vert. If I could have found another one in replacement, I would have. I LOVE my coupe, much better car than the vert I had (3 years newer, still under warranty, XM radio, fully loaded, etc.) but I sure miss my vert
It all comes down to practicality. Would a vert suit your habits better than a coupe? If you can answer that question, then you will be able to better decide. If you live in an area where you will hardly take the top down, then you just have to decide if that is acceptable to you or not. Its a viceral experience enjoyed by few to drive a Corvette drop top on a sunny day with the top down

I have had two large golf bags in it with the top down and gone to the course on several occasions.
