Sad day
Well today i put her sta-bil in her little gas tank, attached her battery tender-plus and put on her new cover i bought from Mid America and then i said good bye to her and i love you car and i will uncover you next summer when the weather gets nice and warm and their are no more bad things on the road for you to run over and chip your paint. This is a very sad time of the year from me i get so depressed when i have store her for the winter but she is in my garage and ever so often i will probably take a peek at her when i am really down and depressed because i am not driving her.I am sure i am not the only one who feels this way. Charlene
Wow, I really need to appreciate driving year round more when I read these posts. I really can't imagine parking the C5 or the H-D for 4 or 5 months. Visited Penn area once and it is beautiful.
Sorry, I can't sympathize. These cars were made for driving, and driving hard. It is your choice to do this.
Me, I live in Maryland (not much more south than you), and my 1998 C5 is a daily driver with close to 109,000 miles on it. Only had two problems: one oil pressure sensor and one headlight gear.
I, unlike you, will have many similes on my face from driving my C5 this winter.
Why put it away? Here in the Northeast you get plenty of driving days. Last season was a short one, first good snowfall was 2/14 and it was all over in March. Drive it .

Its been cool here and rainning the last four days and i dont drive it in the rain so i figured i would just store it.Had her out alot last week but have not seen any vettes out for the last few weeks.
When mine goes away, probably within the next week or so, I won't even see it for six months. It will be eight miles away and locked up with twenty other seasonal vehicles.
Yes this is my choice as I never bought it as a year-round daily driver. It's our good weather summer fun car. I'll appreciate it more when I do get it out again.
