Well an update on my Corvette Specialty nightmare, you can search my threads on them to see the story. Make a long story short they messed up a wetsanding job, and I finally decided to tackle the fix myself. Went out and bought a professional orbital buffer. The first phase I used the supplied terry buffing pad. This is what it looked like completely clean after that.
Then I drove it up to Vegas and when I got there it was covered in dust, so guess what popped out REAL BAD. Swirl marks from the orbital, but ALL the sanding marks and deep clear coat only scratches were gone. GREAT! So now I'm dealing with the surface swirl marks which I bought a microfiber buffing pad for. So now I'm using a multi stage wax system with the microfiber buffing pad on the professional orbital to apply the wax, the microfiber seems to be less likely to swirl than the terry cloth, so I went with that. Then once the polished applied wax dries I'm using a walmart 10" cheap shaking buffer and microfiber pad to remove the wax from the car. I then use a microfiber cloth on the car by hand to remove any wax I missed. So here is an updated hood picture, and i'll report back when I get done with the whole car, and hopefully this can help some people out who are having any paint issues. Just wish I didn't have to get a learning curve on my own car , but that teaches me to never again let anyone (no matter how well known and established) work on my car.

Porter Cable random orbital buffer... Orbitals are for the pro's only IMHO, because you can burn the clearcoat a lot easier than a Random Orbital.
Check out the Appearance and Detailing info in the "Car Care Discussion" forum!
Good luck!

Actually that is what I said, just poorly. An Orbital can burn through the clear a lot easier than a Random Orbital, and the RO will give you more time on the area to get the scratches out with the right polish compounds. Although the Orbital in the right hands can make a car look outstanding.
