Default Please Post Truck Pic?

So I imported a 2003 Millennium Yellow Z06. Just in time to store it for the winter. This is my first Z06 and first C5. Up until now I've been a C4 guy. My initial impressions of the Z... unreal. You can really feel the difference between the C4 and C5 chassis on things like expansion joints or railway crossings. The power is sweet. The sound is awesome. Anyway, you all know this... so I'll get to my question.

In the trunk I have three recessed compartments. The one on the right was for the tire inflation kit, which is gone. No biggy, I'll buy another one. I am wondering if I am missing some covers that should be over these compartments? Can someone send me a picture of your trunk so I can see if I'm missing anything? I'll post a pic of mine later once I have my morning coffee.

I'll have many questions... please bear with me. I'm happy as a pig in $#@.

Check to see that you have a wheel lock key right away.
It should be underneath the carpet on the left side well rail. There is a little indent in the rail for storing it. Mine was missing and it will be a big problem if you need to remove a wheel.
The Z doesn't come with well covers, but there are vendors such as Southern Car Parts that sell them.

Hi ATOK -

Nope - no covers in a Z06 at all.

Congrats on your new Z!

best regards -

I went looked and don't see any place to store the wheel lock key. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. Anyway, I checked the wheel nuts and I do not have any locking wheel nuts. All just standard hex. Maybe someone removed the locking nuts. Can you give me a more precise place to look for the key? Should I have to remove carpet?

Thanks

the recessed compartment on the drivers side, is for 2 liter bottles of soda you get at the grocery store. Then they don't fly around when you accelerate, or high speed corner, on your way home. At least thats what ours is for. Man its going to be one looong winter for you, with that sitting in your garage. congrats..

If you have stock wheels you should have locks, the nuts have a plastic cover, which un screws from the wheel nut. The key is under the carpet,on the top of the rail between the left, and center well. if you press on the carpet there you should feel the key or a indentation if the key is missing.

My 04 does not have locking lug nuts either. Not sure if it was a factory, dealer or owner installed option for those that have them but if you don't have locking lug nuts then you wont have a key tucked away somewhere.

My 01 did, maybe later years didn't, when i went to put the new wheels on, no key, and was a big hassel finding a master set to remove them.

In fact, wheel locks were deleted from being standard issue on Z06's. My '03 didn't have them either. My '98 C5 did come with them.
