Need some help on Power programmer.
Hi everyone. I bought my car from a person that had upgraded the car with an exhaust system, took the cats out completely and installed an intake.
I also bought the car with a power programmer.
My c5 sucks gas.
I was wondering if I were to program my car back to stock setting to save gas would this hurt the engine because of the performance mods installed?

It won't hurt your engine to put the car back to the stock tune.
Having said that the programmer would not really affect gas mileage anyway!
I have used a HPP3 on my last 2 cars a 95 Z28 and a 99 Z28 and it did not effect the gas mileage that I could detect.
How bad is the gas mileage?

That is low I get 16mpg city and 25-30mpg on a long run.
Is it any better on a longer run?
What is your style of driving like are you taking it easy and trying to get decent gas milage or do you have a heavy right foot!
Are you A4 or M6 I just leave it in D in town.
I do use the cruise control alot in town to keep to the 30 and 40mph speed limits this must help with my gas mileage but I would say 16mpg in town is fair as my previous 99 Z28 which has almost the same motor did 16mpg also in town.
Just noticed your avitar it looks like an FRC or ZO6 so it 6 speed.

I think your gonna have to wait for some 6 speed guys to chime in as I don't experience much heavy traffic with a 6 speed but it does sound like somethings up with only 11.2 mpg!
