Good Morning CF:
Putting on another new set of tires tommorow. General Exlclaim UHP. I only drive the C5 a couple of times per month since I retired, it is in the Garage on concrete the rest of the time. What is the best way to avoid getting flat spots on the tires? I guess I could jack it up and put on stands but thats a hassle. Suggestions?
Thanks
OGC5
Not that new tires get flat spots, but there was a thread a couple of years ago where members were putting down carpeting under their tires while garaged. I bought four sample squares and did it and it and neved saw any difference. Like a previous reply said.
Just Drive It.

Was my DD untill I retired. Those Pirellis are square now when I take it on the road and thump for 20 miles untill they get warmed up. Putting the General Exclaim UHPs on tommorow so we will see if that cures it.

Since I purchased a set of Flatstoppers from Echler's the thumping went away. They are easy to put down and I drive on and off of mine without have to touch them. They are also good for show displays.
My Z16 is parked on my lift for 4-5 months of winter in northern AZ. I don't get flat spots. You can add some more air pressure for storage.
I haven't heard that complaint since the days of bias belted 6.70x15 tires...
Just recently saw this ad at the Lingenfelter site which is: http://www.lingenfelter.com/store/ln0300.html. These may be what you are looking for, maybe not. Was curious as I too thought this had all but vanished although one can sense it from time to time especially in low temperatures. Regardless, these "storage mats" aren't low priced but do address your concerns. Trust this is helpful.

Today’s high performance tire compounds are designed to function best at operating temperatures. While the rubber compounds offer peak performance at these temperatures, flatspotting is also accelerated at cooler ambient temperatures. Parking a hot, soft tire on a cool concrete surface accelerates flatspotting because the contact patch is stressed by the temperature and density of the concrete. TireCradles are designed to prevent flatspotting by insulating your hot tires and providing a softer contact area. Sold in sets of four.
In Florida, take it out just a little more often.
If you have a really good buddy, I bet he (or she) would be willing to keep the tires rolling true for you.
