Just put on a set of General Exclaim UHP tires to replace my worn out Pirelli P Zero Neros.Tire Rack had good reviews on this tire. They are quiter than the Pirellis and the original Run Flats and seem to grip great. Balanced up fine and no vibration.
I got a 4 wheel alignment also to correct a slight camber problem. It's like a new car! and 1/2 the price of the GY Run Flats. Tires have a 380 treadwear and I will report back on how they do in the long term.

Theres another thread floating around here praising the General tires. I had mine mounted in August and still like 'em, especially considering that I didn't pay for them! Though when I get new wheels, there will be a set of brand new Michelin PS2's to match.
Nope, I had two sets of Stock Run Flats and hated them, switched to Pirelli PZero Nero and only had one puncture in 3 years. Tire only went down to about 20 PSI, left the nail in the tread and filled to 32PSI with the small 12v air Pump I carry. Got home fine and Patched the tire.
Wife used the Car as her DD for a year and would always ask " what will I do if I get a Flat?" Told her it was highly unlikely a tire would lose all the air ,so drive slow untill you get to a safe place and Call AAA.

I've had the Generals on my car for a year now, and 10K miles later, they still look brand new. I'm not an aggressive driver, and I run 32lbs. of air in them. FANTASTIC wet traction! For an inexpesnsive tire, I don't think you can beat them!
We put these tires on my wife's Lexus GS430 almost one year ago at the recommendation of the Discount Tire rep. Was skeptical as the price was way too modest and reasonable considering the tire size (245/45X17 -same as C5 front).
She drives the snot out of the car on a daily basis including using the tires and rims as curb indicators. Wear has been excellent with no excess wear across the tread if rotated every 5K miles. When I do drive the vehicle, the tires handle and brake well and are exceptional in the rain. Seems a good choice for daily driving and easy on the pocketbook as well. Just my opinion...

Looks like a good tire (especially for the price), #1 on Tirerack's ultra high performance survey. Too bad they don't make one for the Z's rear. Best of luck with them!
I've never had any luck with General Tires! Good luck.
But BC-GenCorp sold General Tire to German tire maker Continental AG in 1987. General Tire still exists today as part of Continental's American operations. I think the Germans have improved the Brand and as far as I know still have several plants here in the USA.

For my C5, GS-D3 rated as one of the best. Why take a chance with such a world class auto.
Yeah ,Yeah and Zaino is the only thing that will shine a Corvette and Mobil 1 is the only oil the car can run with and NGK plugs are the only ones that fire, and top tier Gasoline is the only thing that you will use. ECT,ECT,ECT..

Got mine in January, over 10,000 miles and still look great. Don't have anything to compare to, as I only rode on the F1 Supercars for about 6 weeks, and could see a difference in wear (of the Supercars) in that short of a time.
My brother is running a set on his M3 and he says they are great! I currently have Toyo Proxes T1-S on my vette and have been more then satisfied with them. I want to get a replacement set, although the Generals might be the better way to go.
