Default My C5 was broken into

I use the passive mode, and I always wait to hear the horn go off which it did. Between 10:30pm and 6:00am the car was broken into, I walked up to the car and it didn't unlock, I hit unlock nothing try to door and it was locked so I use the key then I saw it had been broken into. I bought a new battery for my fob and had to do the re-learn procedure. If the fob loses it's battery power is it normal to need to do a re-learn? I sleep 20 feet from where my car was parked (on the street in a sub division next to a main road under a street light, we had a guest over who had taken the garage )

could the car have detected the fob while I was asleep at night and the thief saw the potential? Cop said the car thieves in AZ where pretty crafty and had radio deals that know the RF frequencies and just run through em till the car unlocks. My column lock still works had I gotten around to doing the CLB I think my car would be gone. Now the Service ABS things comes on, me dash is KIA and my seat is ripped. I did the diagnostic thing and the BCM had no codes so it is deff the ABS system that is pissed about something.

I called the INS co claims adjuster will be by between mon-thurs, cops came found a flashlight with prints and I called the cred bureau becuase I had my military records in the car I had just come from the National guard recruiters office.

I had someone try to break into my car a couple weeks ago. Dog started barking and then my alarm went off. I came running out of the house 9mm in hand and they drove off in a old VW Jetta. Luckily the only damage to the car was the window tint is a little messed up where they put the slim jim in. But I'm still pissed so I can only imagine how you are.

I hate hearing such unfortunate stories like this. I've had my car keyed, egged, and ketchup thrown on it. I wish I could catch someone messing with my car because I'd beat their a$$...At some point in time I thought about getting some time of video recorder. Something that would record over a tape 24/7 just in case something does happen to my car...

Anyone know of anything like this?

Anywho, sorry for the unfortunate event. I hope those ******s get caught

I just hate that people see you have something nice and try to ruin it. They get so jealous that I worked hard and have something to show for it they rip me off and go back to their crap apartment and their crap lives and live with their resentment when all they have to do is get off their *** and work for it.

The ins company seems to be pretty cool about it, I was expecting them to only replace everything to stock becuase I had after market stereo stuff, but they asked what it was and I told them and didn't even ask for receipts (I bought the car with the stereo but I do have pictures of all the stuff) Well see what the claims adjuster has to say and hopefully I can figure out the ABS things hopefully it is just a lack of communication becuase the stereo.

Sorry to hear about this. Hopefully the thieves have a criminal record and their fingerprints will match. I've recently been debating on adding an alarm with a pager. Hope everything works out for you!

Sorry to hear about this.

I always get nervous when I do a trip somewhere and have to leave the Vette out overnight in a motel parking lot. I have nightmares about stuff like that.

Hope it gets all put back together as good as new.
