Cross drilled brake hoses will keep the fluid cooler and extend its life.

Depending on how hard you use your car it can be 1-3 years or everytime you go to the track. I use a good Dot 4 fluid. ATE Super Type 200 which is Amber in color instead of blue which stains the plastics. I change once a year. You should at least do it every couple of years or now if it has never been done on your 99. Don

I use Valvoline Syn Power, always check the color and clarity of the brake fluid that tells a bunch, the darker it is means it needs to be changed. As mentioned above every 2-3 years is suffice for normal driving.

forget the manual change the brake fluid at a minimum of yearly. Your brakes will thank you. Plus you stop better and quicker on fresh brake fluid.

Once your brake fluid gets old, you get use to the feel. When the fluid is changed to fresh you think, " Why didn't I do this sooner?"
