Default Drag stip launch question

I know this will probably be a dum question, but did anyone ever try to launch in second at the strip? Jsst curious how that would work out if you tached at like 4500, and controlled the clutch release. Thanks!

You wouldn't like the results, nor would your clutch.

A 2d gear burnout is OK because the rears are damp. But a launch in 2d will cause the clutch to slip excessively and sacrifice the gearing advantage engineered into 1st gear.

Thanks Ranger. At least I can rule that out now in the future. It is intimidating at the beginning. I almost would like to see someone with experience run my car so I know there is nothing wrong with it. I know there probably is not, but it is a good piece of mind. I will keep at it. Thanks again!

You might want to dyno the car. Virtually all stock ones make essentially the same power. If yours does too, you'll know it's fine. Just avoid the sales pitch to start modding it. Better to start working on the driver mod.

Of course, sometimes it is fun to mod your car, too. Best to decide for yourself what you want to do. True, modding is not much good if you don't know what to do with it.... Most importantly, have fun!
