2000 coupe.....my drivers side pop up headlite assembly bounces a lot more than the passenger side assembly on bumpy roads.....all screws are tight and both seem to have a little play but the drivers side bounces noticeably on a dark road...any suggestions to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.....vettes rule !!!
The way the headlights work is that power is applied to the motor, a nylon gear turns and drives the arm attached to the headlight assembly upwards until it hits a stop. Its then held mechanically.
Either the linkage is loose, the headlamp assembly is loose or the motor/gear is not holding it against the end stop.
Is there any play when its up? If its moving when you push it, that may point to where its loose.
It could also be the start of a gear failure allowing some play. You can fit brass gears to solve that problem.
Another thing to try is with the headlights on, manually ensure that the headlight is fully raised by turning the manual raise ****. Then turn the lights off and on and go for a drive. Usually, one of the bolts are loose. I believe your coupe should have 6 bolts. Did you check all 6?

Also, check to see if one of your little white nylon "stop" pads is missing or cracked/damaged.
