Default Longest mod?

What the longest time you've spent on a single mod?

For Me: 2.5 months on my sound system upgrade.

One more month and it will be a year on my sound system. It's seen about $8000 worth of equipment pass in and out of it... not including wiring, fabrication costs, carpet, fiberglass... I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things too.

Lesse...

Head units: (model #s may not be completely right.)
Pioneer DEHP7800MP
Alpine 9855 (x2, I thought one was bad. It wasn't.)

Ancillary:
Ipod adapter for Pioneer
Ipod adapter for Alpine
XM for Pioneer
XM For Alpine

Processors:
Alpine 7 band parametric of some sort
2x ARC AUDIO MEQ30 (for l/r independent eq)

Speakers:
Focal Utopia 165w 6.5" comp set
Dynaudio system 342 3 way set up
Dynaudio MW172 8" midbass drivers
Seas Neo Textile tweets
Seas Neo Alum tweets
Alpine type S rear fill
2x ARC 8 sub
IDMAX 12 sub

Amps:
Alpine PDX 4.150
Alpine PDX 1.1000
ARC Audio CXL 2050
ARC Audio CXL 2100
2x ARC Audio Kar KS300.4

Tack on another $1200-1500 to include wiring, deadening, fabrication materials, etc... Not including tools I bought to work on it with.

I still don't consider it done.
current iteration is:
Alpine 9855
Dyn tweets + Dyn 8" mids
ARC KS300.4 pair of amps (90x2 tweets, 350x2 midbass, 180x2 subs)
2x ARC 8 subs
ARC MEQ30 (not x2, because one blew up.)

About 3-4 months on my carPC if you include the research I did, buying the parts, doing the double din mod and the install. My car was only out of commission about a month of that though.

A couple of days installing CrazyCowboy's interior heat and sound insulation.

It took a couple of weeks or so to get my leather seats modified but the actual de-install, re-install only took a few hours.

6 months full audio/video system.

6 months complete color change/paint job.

No wonder why I haven't driven this car much

Where is EG when you need him?
I'm sure his would be the longest.

Kale, your system is never going to be finished and you know it. You'll come to a time where you finally get the car back in one piece just around the time a new processor or head unit comes out. I dare say you've been bitten by the audio bug.

Nevertheless, I'm always impressed with your ingenuity and creativity.

Right now im looking hard at cone midranges. I'd really like to run Dyn Mw152 midrange but its big $$$

Gotta get 200hz out of the doors, the resonance is horrid and getting worse the more I deaden.

I think domes sound better, and are easier to work with... but they dont play low enough. I did buy some DLS IR3s though im going to play with tonight.

i could always gap. I'm a big fan of using a gap.
