Default Fender height after lowering?

I put in the C6 front lowering bolts (they are bottomed out) and Bilstein Sport shocks and my front end seems quite a bit higher than alot that I see (not including cars with bolts removed). When measured dead center of wheel, from ground to bottom of front fender I am @ 26 3/4". They have been in for over a week and have "settled". Can anyone else tell me their measurement, both with bolts in and removed? Do you think the Bilsteins have any effect? Thanks.

You need to drive it at least a 100 miles to get it to settle. I drove mine almost 200 miles.
My front is at 26 1/4" (passenger) and 26 3/8" (driver) with oem bolts/bushings not cut. That's down from original 27 1/8" +/- 1/8".
No ones measurements are going to be the exact same height. There's to many variables with oem bolts with and without bushings cut, no bolts, suspension, tires, shocks, springs, etc.
The C6/Z06 bolts should allow for a much lower front ride height, so it's possible that the shocks are holding the front end up a little bit.

I have stock tire height and you are 1/2" lower than me with stock bolts. The only thing different is the Bilsteins. I feel that I should be able to get much lower than you because I have the C6 bolts. My original starting point with stock shocks was 27 3/4". I got down to 27" with stock shocks and fully lowered on stock bolts. So with the addition of C6 bolts and bilsteins I saw a net lowering change of 1/4". Disappointing.

After reading this It got me thinking, so I went out and measured mine. They are between 26 5/8 and 26 3/4, dead center of the wheel to the bottom of the fender lip of the wheel opening. I am running 18" x 10.5wheels on the front with 295x 18 pilot sports and 18" x 11.5 wheels on the rear with 335x 18 pilot sports. Hope this helps

Wow. You are 3/8" lower than me and I have the C6 bolts. I'm really puzzled.

Are the C6 bolts suppose to get you lower then stock C5 bolts? I would not want to be any lower, have to be too careful now with an ACI front spoiler.

Default what's up, george?

i just went out and measured my fender heights:

fronts = 26 1/8"
rears = 27 1/8"

and you've seen my car/setup. still not sure what bolts are up front or how/if they've been modified.

do you still have the stock shocks? if so, try bolting up at least the fronts and see if that makes a diff with the c6 bolts.

btw....i think ima head out to msi on sat.

take care,

rich

I'm thinking yours are either cut, C6, or out! Have you seen that you even have any in? If you are going to MSI, then I want to go also. I guess that I will wait and hope that the shocks and the rest of the suspension settle more. I just want it to go down another 3/8"or so.

what's crackalackin'?

yeah, i know there is some "factory bolt" in there, cuz i tried to turn it to lower it even more...hahahaha. but it was turned all the way "up", so she's as low as she's gonna go without yankin' them sumbitches out.

as for sat., the rain's sposed to hold off til late afternoon/evening, so i'll prolly be out there around opening. gotta get me some of them there gutbombs....lol

I'm at 26.0" with no bolts but a 1/4" piece if reinforced rubber on the ends of the spring. I also have stock size tires and Bilstien HD shocks.

I'm on stock bolts I believe. I believe the car was lowered 1" all around. Some one help me out here. Will two identical cars, with stock ride heights, measure differently? One with stock tires and rims and the other with 295 X 18s on the front? If so does that mean If I had 17s on the front it should measure about 26 1/8 - 26 1/4. Either way for a daily driver, which mine is, I would not want to go any lower than I already am. You have to be mindful of where you are and just how fast you are going at all times, even in a gas stating where the tank filler hatches are raised up a bit.

tire/wheel size will have no impact on the distance measurement bewteen the center of the wheel and the lip of the fender. they will have an impact on overall ride height, and clearance in the fender between the tire/wheel - but the distance from the center of the wheel (effectively the center of the spindle) will stay constant regardless of tire/wheel combination.

I ended up with:
26 3/4" in the front
27 1/2" in the rear

And that's with lowering close to max on stock bolts. I had an alignment done after about a week of driving and it showed it needed little or no adjustment.
Well at least I had peace of mind...and I have bilsteins.

It shouldn't matter if you change tires or not as long as the overall tires height is the same. Also, I never hear of anyone doing this, but I cut 1" off the bottom of my front spoilers and air dam. I did not like the sound of them rubbing on things, especially my driveway.
