Default Changing All Fluid- What Tools??

I have searched the posts - and apologize if i missed the answer.

I have a 2002 Z06.

Simply need to know the socket sizes / allen wrench sizes for:

1) The Engine Oil Pan Drain Plug

2) the 6 Sp Manual Tranny Drain and the Refill Plugs

3) The Rear Axle/Diff Rain and refill plugs

I just don't want to get the car on jacks and ready to go- only to have to make a last minute tool run to the hardware store.

Also- do I need aluminum crusher rings to seal the plugs - or simply re-use the ones on there? If I need them- what size and where to get them?

Thank you

Engine oil drain plug should be a 13mm (at least it is on my C6)

M6 drain and fill, use the end of a 3/8" drive ratchet or extension (no socket)

Diff is a 10mm allen

You should not have to change the crush washers on the diff plugs, the tranny plugs should have sealant on them. The engine is an 0-ring.

I have complete RedLine oil packages as well that contain everything you need to do an entire car.

No you do not, the o-ring is molded into the plug. I also thought mine was 15mm not entirely sure.

Edit: The fill plug on the Z06 is the temp sensor, the other on top is the detent. Make sure you remove the temp sensor to fill, 'fill' is also stamped on the side of the case... drivers side. make sure car is level. A tech tip is to always remove the fill plug first, that way if it is stuck you do not have a car that you can not move due to no fluids.

Hi NatB -

15mm on the crankcase drain plug.

10mm hex on the trans and diff plugs.

best regards -

Default Thanks !

Appreciate the feed back on the tools needed !

Plan today to:

1) Change Oil and Filter (Mobil 1 )
2) Drain and Refill Tranny ( Mobil 1 ATF)
3) Drain and Refill Diff ( I think I will try Royal Purple)
