I just bought a 2000 6-speed supercharged corvette.
The passangers side window can be successfully rolled down from the passanger side, however the buttons on the driver side can not roll down either window. The driver's side door lock button doesn't work, but the unlock one does.
Does anyone know what could be the problem with both windows?
Yes I have searched, but I want a little more active suggestions.
Pull the codes and see what you have for LDCM(left door control module. This will give you a better starting point. Sounds like that module is going bad.
Simply sounds like your driver side switches have gone bad. Could be connection corrosion or the switch itself. Sounds like you just need to dive in, pull the panel and see what you've got.
If you can "jump" the connection and the windows and lock works, it's the switches for sure.
Thanks alot guys! I guess I'll dissasemble the panel tomorow. When I was searching, I saw instructions for removing the panel. Does anyone have a link for them?
First thing to try is the connector in the door hinge area. Pull the rubber boot and take a look. Clean it up and make sure its seated properly and there is no chafing of the wires. Its been known to cause all sorts of issues. Bill Curlee posted a pic of the connector recently. It may be in his electrical sticky in Tech. That may be the easy fix.
If its only one side but affecting both windows it does sound like a switch/wiring problem rather than a door module.
