Trunk latch spring - 02 Z06

My 02 Z06 trunk lid barely pops up after release. Sometimes I have to use a credit card to lift in order to get a finger under it. Do I need to replace spring?

You could try a few adjustments first. the lock mechanism can shift. Guys have unscrewed the mechanism and retightened it and its improved the action. You could also give it a liberal dose of WD40 which can help.

Or if all else fails you could buy the trunk popper.

If it don't open enough, I just open and close a door (with the windows up).
