I'm not a big fan of the forward facing openings. I think it would look better with rear openings more like the old cowl induction hoods.

I was told that the intake holes do funtion and flows the air to the front of of cold air box.

The hood is functional and air does go into the engine bay.

how is the fit , the black Z06's hood looks like the gap is way off. look at the gap at the headlights.

I didnt have as bad of luck with the fit. I heard many horror stories when i was going to purchase mine and called Sean at RK and discussed everything with him and he said the earlier hoods did have some issues but they made some modifications and the new ones fit alot better. The finish on the top of the hood is great, the bottom will need work to get to look nice. I had mine finished and then installed the factory hood liner. It cost me 800.00 to have painted with both colors.

I would go something close to a silver, think it would match your wheels nice and stand out more.
See if Zilla will photochop a pic with colors you are thinking. He did it for me when i was asking.

However, the black stripes, the "stingers" if you will, are what make the hood look so good on the red car! One of my favorite C5's!
