Default Easy question - lighter

Got a quick question, when you push in on the lighter does it stay in or do you have to hold it in for to get hot?

I have to hold it in but my other GM vehicles once you push it in and it heats up it pops out on its own.

Thanks

it does stay on.
The lighter system has a piece of metal sesitive to heat that when gets to certain temp, bends up and releases the lighter. dometimes this piece is bent backwards or sometimes is broken

When it doesn't stay in, it's because you need a new lighter, so don't waste your time trying to figure it out, as far as if your wiring and fuses go. The lighter should be a $5 or so.

Cool, it gets hot just have to hold it in, time to go get a new one. Nice that I found out because it looks like it lit a cig. once or twice.

It should stay in by itself. Once hot, it should pop out.
