New to me C5, Drivers electric door lock will lock but not open.
I have now removed the door panel, removed the door lock and tested the lock itself. This was done by hooking it up to a battery and reversing the polarity. The lock seems to work OK.
There seems to be a control box (retangular black) that has some elecronics inside. Would this be the problem?
I am getting a clicking from it both ways.
thanks Richard
Yup, probably that black box that controls the function. Do a search on the site, there are some folks who can rebuild them; that will save you some seriouis $$$$. Very common problem.
C5s use digital logic to control items, you can't do normal "electrical" troubleshooting on them. Best thing is to get a Shop Manual. You also need to pull up your codes using your DIC (do a search for how) and post any codes here for help.
