workshop manual C5 on CD-Rom
I'm new on this forum and I'm from The Netherlands, Europe.
(two handicaps and I havent even started yet)I allready found loads of information on the subject I came here for in the first place: Squeeky belts
Last week I replaced the waterpump of my '99 C5 cause I was sure it's bearing was broke. Little did I know. After the squeek was back (immidiatley) I (we) dicided it was the A/c compressor. But a few days older and a little bit wiser I dicided first to make sure this was the bad guy before ordering a new one.
now I know it's highly unlikeley that the A/C is wrong.
I am going to replace the lower belt and probabley the tensioner and idler. That is if I can get them in Holland (I can't order with Autozone or O'Reilly because I haven't got a zippcode. But I sent mailes and hope for the best)
Bought my C5 on internet at Cn'V, Tempe Arizona. Good folk and good service. Did exectley what we agreed upon and what they prommessed.
Sent them a mail as wel for the parts. They'll help me I'm sure.
I have one question (for now):
Is there a workshop manual on CD-Rom available for the C5? Or a hobbyíst short version of the workshop manual?
I know it's not the real deal but often it's a lot cheaper and I really don't want/need a 3 book manual.
hope somebody can help me. (maybe it is allready on the forum but I couldn't find it)
All the best and: I'll be back.

While a CD would be more convienent, they are typically much more expensive and are generally used by shops who buy not only a CD but an upgrade plan for them. Because the CD's can hold so much data, they usually have multiple vehicle models on the CD.
The Helm website www.helminc.com has '99 FSM's for $135.00 (USD) and they do ship to international addresses using UPS.
As far as parts, there should be US sources that will ship to Holland or anywhere else in Europe. There are a number of CF membes that live throughout Eurpoe and there are Corvette clubs in The Netherlands like this one: http://www.heartbeatcorvette.nl/hear...kom/welkom.asp that could be a big help in finding parts (and other Corvette owners) That page also has links to Corvette parts suppliers.
