I went out to warm up the car and got this message (this is the first time). I shut it off, took out the key, waited, and then started the car back up with no problem. Should i worry??? Never had this happen before.
That happened to me quite abit after I had the recall for the column lock. Took the car back to dealer and they changed the relay jumper. No message in Quite some time.
If your car has had the recall done where they installed the K harness, better go ahead and remove it (they fail often and you can drive without it) and purchase a CLB to be safe.
Thats the same message I was getting once in a while and then it finally became the service column lock message and thats when I was stuck. Now I'm waiting on the bypass kit..
I started getting those right before my CL failed to disengage, requiring a tow to the dealer to get the recall installed.
Even the recall isnt a for sure fix. The K harness they install goes bad soon afterward leaving you with the same problem. Mine failed within a couple of months after the recall was done. A CLB seems to be the only thing that keeps it away.

This is very true because I have the recall done by the dealer and It failed on me. I ended up ordering the CLB.
If a recall was already performed and it fails down the road, isn't the dealer network responsible for another repair infinitum?
I would suppose so, but why take it back to them to be replace with the same (I will fail you eventually) part? I'd rather eat the $45 cost of a CLB and be done with it. I did it more for peace of mind. Imagine asking yourself everytime you start your car, is this it? Is it going to happen now?
