I wont even valet my ghetto bomber let alone my vette.
I got called a dick by a valet once when I left him my 99TA, I was giving them a hard time trying to just park it myself and they wouldnt let me. I was late for a family party so I said screw it and I pulled out a piece of paper and wrote down the mileage and reset the trip odometer. He goes under his breath "wow what a dick" so I turned back and said, "I may be, but theres no f'ing way you are going anywhere with my car now other than the parking spot and back to here." his buddy was like... "true... true" lol
Anyone who lets a valet get in their Corvette obviously didn't see "Ferris Beuler's Day Off".(sp?)
That was a fantastic movie and a must see for anyone of us who truly cares about our cars.
I have seen the movie! The person i handed the car to was not the same person that drove it back. I did write down the mileage and reset the trip the car went to the parking garage and back only. I do truly love my car and I guess I was a little green about the vette rules as i have only only owned mine for a month.
I tip the valet $10 when I get there........
Keeps it right up front
I park it
I lock it
I take the keys
Never had a problem. Driving Corvettes 25 years

Yup, that's the right idea.
The kid should have been fired, not just "flipped on". If he just blipped the throttle some....not too bad, but as you described in driving it.....needs a real lesson about having a job and integrity and doing any crappy job well.
His actions are a window to his lack of ethics. Who knows WHAT other kind of crap he pulls.
TIP?? Ha.....yeah, the tips of my knuckles making a lasting impression.

I valet parked my car in Vegas two years ago. When I pulled up, I asked the valet if he planned to take good care of my car. His reply was - "Depends on how good you take care of me." So I took a $50 out of my pocket and asked him - "Is this what you call taking care of you?" His eyes got big as saucers and said emphatically - "YES"
I tore the bill in half and said - "Great - now we both have an equal stake in the safety and welfare of my car!" as I handed him half of the bill. He laughed and told me he would park it in a great spot away from everyone else, on a floor accessible only to the valet staff.
He was a great guy and before the end of the day - I gave him the other half of the bill. My car had a fine layer of dust on it four days later, with not a single fingerprint. No one touched the car. Depending on the situation I would do it again.
Not all valets are evil teenagers looking for a cheap and easy joyride. Just like not all Corvette owners are pr1cks......
