Default Kid Valet!!

My and the wife stayed in Denver at the Monaco Hotel and opted for the 25$ valet service instead of the open air parking. Well this morning as we were leaving the hotel room I hear a sweet exhaust note coming from the parking garage next door. Just out of curiosity, I look out the hotel window and see a teenager driving my car like a bat out of hell around the garage and rev'ing hard to make the exhaust sing. I did check the miles before and after so i know there wasn't any joyriding. I told the front desk manager and she flipped on the kid! I felt kinda sorry for him but then i remembered him doggin my ride.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Nick

Did you at least get your 25 bucks back? That is punishable by death.

Nick, That's the main reason I NEVER do valet parking when I'm in the Z06. Last time I went to a place with valet parking, the kid that came up to me to park the car was literally drooling all over himself! He opens the door for me and say's "i'll take really good care of your car",
my response: "not in this lifetime". I would much rather park it myself and walk a little ways to the restaurant. Hey, let's face it we were all kids once too!

I check the car all over for damage even under the car. There wasn't any. I was in a really good mood from the wonderful time with my wife or else I could have been a really big problem. The only reason for the valet was the unlimited access to the car plus the security. A better option than parking on street or some unattended lot.

Just wanted to rant!!

p.s Wife asked if i was going to tip him but i told her the tip was included in the ride he took in my car.

I usually look at the valet, hand him a $5, and simply state, "Okay, where do you want it? That spot right there front and center is looking really perfect."

About 7 or 8 years ago I was in Vegas with some friends and we all had Camaros back then. We all parked our cars ourselves except for one and as we were walking to the elevator we saw the valet "kid" hot rodding the car through the parking garage. Picture Fast and the Furious - Tokyo Drift and you'll know how he was driving it. When we let our friend know what happened he almost killed the kid and really let the manager have it!

I used to valet park & I/we used to ALWAYS take the sports cars out for a "ride".

I give $5-10 for the front self parking. As a valet, it's money for nothing. The front spots are saved for nice cars to get a good tip. To get a tip & not have to park it even is great for an 18 yr. old kid!
$10 usually speaks louder!! LOL

That would be the last time I went to that restaurant/motel, whatever it is. I would be livid. I take care of my cars and make the payments. I drive it how I want it driven.

$5 bucks don't cut it in dowtown D when you got Ferraris, Astons, Vipers, P cars rollin like a flood wave.

IF I HAVE TO valet I give the guy a $20 and tell him to put it right in front.

I hardly ever drive the Z for valet.... not because Im worried about door dings or body damage more than my other cars but due to the low ground clearance and expensive wheels (CCW 505's) on the Z.... it is just an easier car to damage in my opinion and not to mention the temptation for someone to hot rod it around. I have only brought the car to a restaurant/club a handful of times for valet and I always give the guy whatever extra I need to that ensures it will be parked up front or in a safe spot.

no way I valet.

The only person to drive my vette was my good friend, he has a 03 Z06 and he wanted to try out the short throw shifter, and my dad. I am very picky with the vette, especially with some kid in the car. Glad that kid got his butt reamed! No tip for U! LOL
