Default Need assistance with problem

Here is the deal: whenever I unlock my car with the key fob ...it resets the driver's seat memory ....as best I can tell, it resets it to the original owner's (who was very short) settings. I have owned the car for 2 years now and it always does this. Chevy can't figure out why ....I can't figure out why ....I am at my wits end. Essentially every single time I lock the car I have to redo my settings when I unlock it ....oh yea ....it resets all 3 settings to the same (short person) settings at once.

I cannot begin to tell you how much of a pain this is.

Any ideas whatsoever????

Thanks

Just to make sure, after you have the seat where you want it. You hold down the memory button on the driver's door for either 1 or 2 till the light flash's right?

Yes I set the memory by holding the 1 down (I also set the 2) until it flashes ....then I can move the seat and hit 1 and it holds the memory where I set it. Then when I lock/unlock, it erases the setting I put into it. I can wait 5 seconds 5 minutes or 5 hours ....doesnt mattter, as soon as I hit unlock it moves the seat forward and my setting is gone.

Sounds like maybe the memory control box is bad. Are you throwing any codes at all on the DIC?

I think so, but don't quote me on that.

Dude,

I once dated a girl that I dreamed would be the most magnificent woman ever for me. (I know...she said I was selfish, too!) I soon discovered that she was nothing like I dreamed. In fact, she was down right onery most all the time. I too have the same disease in my 2000 Vert. No matter how many times I set this memory seat thing, it changes its mind and does something different? The telescoping steering wheel seems to end up in any number of places and the seats are like a lottery ticket...most of the time, I lose. I have decided the car is just trying to be "onery"... and, I accept her just as she is...unlike that girl in my story. There are some things a man just can't handle and an onery female would rank very high on my list.

You can try this. 1st make sure if your radio is locked that you have the code to unlock it or go to options and take the LOC off the radio. Then disconnect the ground (NEG) wire on the battery and leave it disconnected for 30 secs. Then connect the ground wire back up and try setting the seat. That might work.

My driver's seat was driving me crazy with the same issue. I did the door loom fix listed in the electrical sticky in the C5 Tech section. Pretty easy and no more seat problems. Worth a try. Good luck!

Would it be possible for someone who knows where this "Door Loom Fix" is located to post a direct link to it?

Is this supposed to be the "electrical sticky" in the C5 Tech section? This section has a least 22 pages, with most covering the chassis ground, so if the door loom is inner-mixed within, what page or post number?

electrical sticky

Thanks

Have a good Thanksgiving

Here's a long shot but is there a possibility you are using key fob #2? If you keep having you seat setting memorized to key fob #1 but are using #2 it might seem like the memory part is malfunctioning. Just a thought but this would be a very easy fix if so.
good luck

Default Key Fob problem

I am also having problems with my key fobs in that they are losing their memory. I reset it using the car and it works great for a few hours then needs constant resetting again. The dealers cant seem to find the problem. No codes are showing.

any help will be appreciated.
cheers
